RE: New guy looking to tap your knowledge

"My first question is what are your thoughts on this particular model and the price."
I picked up a Comfort Camp this spring. Mines a bigger unit with a bathroom I paid $2800 so I think $2000 a good price. We plan on doing some boondocking so the bathroom was some thing the wife would not do with out. I don't see any problem with the quality of Comfort Camps. I know there are other people on the forum with them, they might be able to tell you what to keep an eye on.
"3rd, I will be using my 2000 F-350 with the 7.3L and with pulling a 2006 LJ Rubicon on a 16' trailer so I'm thinking that I will need air bags if I make the purchase."
I use a 2001 Dodge 2500 diesel and also tow a trailer with a race car.
I use the Rancho RS9000XL shocks and added airbags, but my TC a 1000# more than yours and I have to use a hitch extension. I don't think you will have to use an extension.
If you can do with out the bathroom I think it a good deal. As Beddows said treat it as a starter, if you want to upgrade later.

RE: Make French Fries or Diesel.

Raften, do you have any pics of your 55 gallon reactor? I know I will not be buying one of the $3000 units, I've always been a do it yourself type. So any help is appreciated the more info I have the fewer mistakes I'll make.
Thanks,
Dave

Gray water tank repair

I have a crack in the Gray water tank at the top of the tank. It only leaks when it's full or facing down hill, But it leaks a lot. Has any one repaired there tank? The tanks not poly but ABS plastic. I've pulled the tank off so I can do a proper repair. I would replace it with a new one but I'm having a hard time finding one to fit in the space I have.

RE: Make French Fries or Diesel.

Raften, I would love to get together with you and talk about Bio. I'm taking a class from Maria Alovert (Appleseed reactors) in a few weeks. I've lined up my oil supply and chemical supply's. Any help/insite from some one that makes there own Bio would be great. Dave

RE: Anyone making Biodiesel??? Thoughts/comments

I'm taking a Biodiesel class in a couple of week. I've did a lot of research on the subject to decide if it's for me or not. Is it doable? Yes is for every one no.
I have made sure that all 3 ingredients are obtainable in my area. The oil is still free at most places but some of the more desirable places want to sale it for about $1 a gallon that brings the price of a finished gallon of Bio from $1 up to about $2 a gallon. Still a lot cheaper than the $4.50 we have now for Diesel. The big problem is the time needed, you will need about 6 hours that includes collecting the oil all the way to the finished product. That's more time than most people would be willing to spend. I've always been a do it yourself type I don't have a problem with spending 6 hours to make 50 gallons of Bio.

RE: Price on a Honda EU 2000i

A friend quoted me a price of $851 I just wanted to make sure the price was close. If it was within $100 of the going price I was going to get it from him. I have nothing against the places recommend here but if I can I would rather buy from a friend.
Thanks,
Dave

RE: Yellowstone late July or early Sept? Which do you recommend

It looks like we're going the first two week in September. Now I just need to figure out what sites to see and how much time to spend at each. And I need to get reservation.

RE: Yellowstone late July or early Sept? Which do you recommend

It might just be me but I'm getting the idea September would be a better choice.
This will be are first time in the Yellowstone area as well as are first time with a truck camper. We only have 2 weeks and that includes traveling time we are hoping to see some of the Tetons as well.

Yellowstone late July or early Sept? Which do you recommend

The wife and I will be going out to Yellowstone this year. The only time we can get two weeks off together is late July or early September which do you recommend? We will be in a TC so size is not an issue that will make getting reservations easier.
